Authentic Irish Pub Rí Rá Las Vegas Opens St. Patrick’s Day 2011 Inside The Shoppes at Mandalay Place

Rí Rá Las Vegas will bring an authentic Irish atmosphere to The Strip along with an impressive line-up of live music and fare that defies pub standards when it opens inside The Shoppes at Mandalay Place on St. Patrick’s Day, March 17, 2011.

Soon to become The Strip’s greatest headliner is an 8-foot-tall, 500-pound carved plaster statue of St. Patrick dating back to 1850. St. Patrick is currently making a thrilling journey from Wicklow, Ireland to his new home at Rí Rá Las Vegas and taking snapshots along the way. Those eagerly awaiting St. Patrick’s arrival can check out the Rí Rá Las Vegas Facebook page at facebook.com/RiRaLasVegas and Twitter handle @RiRaVegas to stay up-to-date on his perilous journey.

Crafted in the warm pub style of 19th century Ireland, Rí Rá Las Vegas will feature authentic artifacts carefully restored in Wicklow, Ireland. The pub’s authentic Victorian bar began its life in the 1880s at Foley’s in West Cork, Ireland and was later rebuilt in 1921 after burning down during the Irish Civil War. The bar will be topped off with an original etched cut glass window dating back to 1900 from Mick Collins pub in Wicklow. A salvaged Georgian archway will lead from the front bar into a whiskey bar featuring an original glazed jewelry cabinet from 1900, restored mahogany paneling from a bank and an oak floor from a whiskey distillery.

Rí Rá Las Vegas will feature live entertainment seven nights a week in a music room constructed with artifacts dating back to 1890 from the Olympia Theater in Dublin, Ireland. Just like the pub itself, a majority of the entertainment will be direct from Ireland and include traditional Irish sessions and visiting bands. On the weekends, guests can let their hair down at Rí Rá Live, where every Friday and Saturday at 10 p.m. the best bands in town will take the pub’s stage.

Traditional Irish fare with American influences will be served at all times of the day and into the night. Redefining pub food, Rí Rá Las Vegas will serve dishes such as a 12 day in-house brined Corned Beef Brisket; fish and chips featuring the highest quality North Atlantic sourced Haddock and fresh cut chips; Shepherd’s Pie made with minced lamb; Potato and Leek Soup; Beef and Guinness Stew; a Guinness BBQ Burger and an All-day Irish Breakfast with eggs, sausages, rasher, black and white pudding, pan roasted mushrooms and grilled tomato with toast.

Born and raised in Dublin, Rí Rá Las Vegas owners David Kelly and Ciaran Sheehan have been close friends since they were 14-years-old. Kelly and Sheehan later partnered with Jay Luther, whom Kelly met while working for Guinness. Rí Rá Las Vegas will be the 12th pub the trio has opened in the U.S.
