“BAZ – A Musical Mash-Up” Celebrates a Landmark 500 Shows at The Palazzo Las Vegas
“BAZ – A Musical Mash-Up” celebrated its 500th performance at The Palazzo Las Vegas, Thursday, March 15. Following a rousing performance that received a standing ovation, cast members were presented on stage with a cake to commemorate the special occasion.
Since its debut in 2016, “BAZ – A Musical Mash-Up” has racked up some impressive numbers, including:
- 3,000 on-stage kisses exchanged by principle cast members
- 75 uses of the word “love” during each performance
- 50 Swarovski stones in costumes
- 50 pairs of dance shoes
- 40 pounds of glitter used to date
- 30 yards of beaded fringe
- 15 pairs of angel wings
“BAZ – A Musical Mash-Up” is a new-generation cabaret and high-energy movie-music mash-up that blends the world’s most iconic love stories as imagined by famed film visionary Baz Luhrmann. Inspired by Luhrmann’s signature take on “Romeo + Juliet,” “Moulin Rouge,” and “The Great Gatsby,” this theatrical concert features soul-stirring and stunning performances from an ensemble cast and band.
More than five years in the making, “BAZ – A Musical Mash-Up” is the creation of For The Record, a genre-bending theatrical company in Los Angeles with a vision of turning the soundtracks of iconic filmmakers into immersive theatrical concert experiences.
