It isn’t every day that one has the opportunity to shake hands with two American heroes! That was precisely what was in store for guests at the D Casino Hotel last weekend when Benghazi survivors, Kris “Tanto” Paronto and John “Tig” Tiegen, graced the downtown hot spot (Pictured: John “Tig” Tiegen, Ryan Weaver and Kris “Tanto” Paronto dine inside Andiamo Italian Steakhouse Las Vegas – Photo credit: the D Casino Hotel)

Another fearless hero, Dave “Boon” Benton, who worked alongside the duo in an effort to protect Americans in Benghazi, was more covert, but also present!

The courageous men started off their night with meals fit for heroes from the D’s top-rated Andiamo Italian Steakhouse. They were also joined by their good friend and budding country star, Ryan Weaver, whose “Burn” music video featured the heroic duo.

Executive Richard Wilk was also spotted welcoming and dining with the guys. Tanto and Tig were so amazed at the size of their ribeyes that they had to stop and snap some photos for proof.

Word spread quickly around downtown Las Vegas before a group of proud Americans and tourists lined up outside of the restaurant hoping to meet these true Americans. Quite a few casino guests were misty eyed as they recalled watching the men’s valiant story portrayed in the film “13 Hours: The Secret Soldiers of Benghazi”, in which the men tragically lost their friends, Navy Seals Tyrone Woods and Glen Doherty, as well as U.S. Ambassador Chris Stevens and Information Officer Sean Smith. While the duo made it clear that they don’t consider themselves “heroes”, all of the guests they encountered thought otherwise. They were beyond humble and kind to each and every person who greeted them.

It wouldn’t be a trip to the D Casino without meeting Owner Derek Stevens along with his wife and daughter, Nicole and Whitney. The soldiers received a warm welcome and a big “thank you” from Derek and his family. The group chatted at the world famous LONGBAR as the Flair Bartenders put on a lively show for the weekend crowd!
