Not all heroes wear capes. Las Vegas Valley residents are invited to enjoy a fun day at the lanes and raise money to support local children with ‘Bowl for Kids’ Sake – Big Hero Bowl’ beginning at noon on Saturday, July 23, at Red Rock Lanes inside Red Rock Casino Resort & Spa. Proceeds will support Big Brothers Big Sisters of Southern Nevada (BBBSN)

The event will feature a superhero theme and offer the chance for individuals and teams to sign up to compete in a friendly bowling tournament. Prizes will be awarded for ‘Top Scoring Team,’ ‘Top Scoring Individual,’ ‘Best Team Costumes’ and others. Big Hero Bowl will also include a raffle and silent auction, refreshments and added fun with emcee and resident “superhero enthusiast,” Johiah of 93.1 FM The Party.

Registration is priced at $100 per person or $500 per team of five, with a variety of sponsorship packages available. BBBSN also offers the chance for individuals to ‘sponsor’ a match for $200, allowing a Big and Little match to play for the day. Select Bigs and Littles, BBBSN staff, volunteers and donors will all be at the event to enjoy the festivities. Prices include two games, and teams may have the option to ‘Buy a Strike’ for additional donations.

The Big Brothers Big Sisters mission is to provide children facing adversity with strong and enduring, professionally supported one-to-one relationships that change their lives for the better, forever. The program matches Bigs (high school age and older for site-based program, 25+ for community program) with Littles (ages seven through 18) to foster positive mentoring relationships that span personally, academically and professionally. BBBSN has been positively impacting the lives of local youth since 1973, serving more than 20,000 children.

Registration and more information is available by visiting www.bbbsn.org/superhero or calling 702-731-2227.
