Binion’s Offers a New Way to Win with the Innovative “21 to the River”

Binion’s Gambling Hall & Hotel has added an exciting new addition to its gaming experience with the innovative “21 to the River” table game. “21 to the River” was invented by casino game creator, Anthony Ramirez, and combines traditional Blackjack and five-card poker for a second chance to win after a player has busted his or her Blackjack hand.

“There’s a great potential for ‘21 to the River’ to become successful in our casino,” said Glenn Casale, director of casino operations for Binion’s Gambling Hall & Hotel. “Binion’s has long been known for its table games, and adding another wagering opportunity to Blackjack brings a new level of excitement to what is already one of our most popular games. We’ve experienced a tremendous amount of player interest in the short time ‘21 to the River’ has been on the floor.”

“21 to the River” is played on a standard Blackjack table where players make a mandatory Blackjack bet and are given the option to place a bet on a poker hand. The game is dealt exactly like traditional Blackjack and played according to house rules. If the player busts, the bust card is then moved to the poker wager. At the conclusion of the Blackjack hand the player receives four additional cards to complete a five-card poker hand. The poker hand is then paid relative to a payout scale. If the player does not bust on Blackjack then the poker bet is a push. Players are only eligible to play the poker hand if the Blackjack hand is busted.

The new table game is the latest in a series of changes that have been taking place at the storied casino since Binion’s was acquired in March 2008 by TLC Casino Enterprises. Since that time, Binion’s has reconfigured the casino floor, added a new sports bar and cigar lounge called Benny’s Bullpen, opened a remodeled race and sports book, brought back the famed $1 Million display and has begun remodeling the famous 24th floor steakhouse. A brand new poker room is currently under construction.
