Blue Man Group Takes Teens on Free Virtual Journey Through its Mind-Blowing Production During Maker Camp Aug. 8
Blue Man Group Las Vegas
is the featured field trip for DIY Music week during the six-week Maker Camp program, a free DIY project-based camp for teens, hosted and produced by a partnership between Maker Media and Google.

The virtual, behind-the-scenes tour of Blue Man Group’s award-winning production will be on Friday, Aug. 8 at 11 a.m. PDT. Worldwide campers are encouraged to tune into the exclusive experience. To participate, guests must simply visit the Google Hangout-On-Air on the Make: Google+ page.

Make: magazine and Google created Maker Camp two years ago to inspire youth to use their skills and imagination to become inventors, designers and creators using music, science, technology, art and engineering. It delivers on this concept in a number of ways by: presenting themed weeks during the course of Maker Camp; visiting guest makers’ studios; and going on virtual field trips to iconic company and organization headquarters, showcasing the creative makers who have been instrumental in forging their successful, world-renowned brands. Other companies that have participated in Maker Camp include Walt Disney Imagineering, National Geographic Society, Cartoon Network, Pixar and NASA.

Hosted by a team of Blue Man Group’s performers and technicians, the exclusive Maker Camp tour will showcase how the customized instruments are created and played, the company’s one-of-a-kind creative process and much more. Campers will be amazed by the unprecedented amount of backstage and behind-the-scenes access to the famous Las Vegas stage production. At the end, the team will take questions from campers, unveiling secrets about the mysterious world that characterizes Blue Man Group.
