Boz Scaggs to Perform at Eastside Cannery March 11

Boz Scaggs to Performs at Eastside Cannery March 11Few musicians can claim they went from an East Texas farm town to singing on the streets of Europe and then becoming a Grammy award winning American recording artist. That’s exactly what Boz Scaggs has accomplished during his illustrious career.

Scaggs will perform at the Eastside Events Center at the Eastside Cannery on March 11, 2012 at 8:30 p.m.

Scaggs’ first multi-million selling album “Silk Degrees” produced the hits “Lowdown,” “Lido Shuffle,” “What Can I Say” and “It’s Over.” The album eventually hit the number two position on the U.S. Pop Album chart and earned Scaggs a Grammy award for Best R & B Song, as well as, Grammy nominations for Album of the Year, Best Pop Vocal and Best R & B Performance.

His follow up hits included “Breakdown Dead Ahead,” “Jo Jo,” “Look What You’ve Done to Me,” “Heart of Mine,” and “Miss Sun.” He also appeared on the soundtrack of the wildly popular film “Urban Cowboy”.

During the mid-1980‘s Scaggs took some time away from the music business. He opened a restaurant and rock club in San Francisco called Slim’s. A spot in Donald Fagen’s New York Rock and Soul Revue in 1991 propelled Scaggs back into the recording studio. He released “Some Change” in 1994 and “Come On Home” in 1997. Born in Canton, Ohio, he grew up in Texas and was raised with an appreciation, as well as, respect for a wide variety of music styles, Scaggs has combined Rock, Jazz, R&B and Blues to create his trademark sound. Boz Scaggs’ current albums are “Greatest Hits Live” and “Speak Low.”
