Caesars Entertainment Raises $15,630 for American Cancer Society

In support of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Caesars Entertainment’s Las Vegas resorts raised $15,630 for the American Cancer Society with an employee competition called Battle of the Bras. The contest was a month-long initiative in which Caesars Entertainment employees, Strip headliners and local television anchors decorated bras that told a story linking to breast cancer.

Intricately hand-crafted undergarment creations from celebrity choreographer Robin Antin, the cast of PEEPSHOW at Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino, Human Nature at Imperial Palace Las Vegas, Nathan Burton at Flamingo Las Vegas and Big Elvis at Bill’s Gamblin’ Hall & Saloon were modeled. KVVU FOX 5 News anchors Heidi Hayes and Olivia Fierro also supported the cause with bedazzled brassieres boasting messages of faith, endurance, strength and hope.

A total 72 employees donated 28 bras, decorated with boa feathers, ribbon, pictures of loved ones, inspiring words and even poker chips. All vying for top honors, submissions were on display in the Employee Dining Rooms at Caesars Entertainment Las Vegas resorts and employees were encouraged to vote on their favorite design and donate to the cause.

The employee-crafted bras with the most votes were showcased alongside the media and entertainer designs in a rousing fashion show held at Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino Friday, October 21. Cast members from PEEPSHOW and a showgirl from Nathan Burton Comedy Magic modeled the bras alongside more than 15 Caesars Entertainment executives. Some of the favorite designs were auctioned to the highest bidders following the fashion show. Nathan Burton’s candy-clad design comprised of Skittles, Mike N Ike’s and Bubble Tape-shaped pink ribbons auctioned for $150 and PEEPSHOW’s rhinestone and glitter creation signed by Holly Madison and the entire cast raised $230!

All monies were donated to the American Cancer Society. The Caesars Foundation, which works to strengthen organizations and programs in the communities where Caesars Entertainment employees and their families live and work, matched $5,000 of the $5,630 the employees raised in an effort to reach a $10,000 fundraising goal. Caesars Entertainment CEO Gary Loveman also personally matched $5,000 of the employee contributions to bring the final donation to $15,630.

Earlier this year, Caesars Entertainment and The Caesars Foundation donated more than $129,000 to the American Cancer Society in conjunction with the “Relay for Life” event and is proud to support the organization again through Battle of the Bras.
