Caesars Palace Hosts WSOP Circuit April 14 through 30

The World Series of Poker Circuit returns to one of Las Vegas’ most famous landmarks this month, as Caesars Palace will host a 17-day action-packed poker extravaganza. Tournaments officially begin on Thursday, April 14 and will run through Saturday, April 30.

Caesars Palace marks the 13th (out of 15) stops during the 2010-2011 WSOP Circuit season. This year’s Caesars’ schedule includes a wide variety of poker events, ranging from $70 buy-in tournaments every morning up to the three-day long $1,600 buy-in Main Event Championship. Most poker tournaments are affordable to just about every player and bankroll — including $85 and $110 nightly events in addition to multiple satellites costing as little as $70 to play.

This marks the sixth consecutive year Caesars Palace has hosted a WSOP Circuit stop. The luxurious $7 million poker room is hardly a newcomer to the world of highly competitive major poker events. Caesars Palace hosts several big attractions, including the NBC National Heads-Up Championship every spring, one of poker’s most prestigious titles. The Caesars Poker Classic is also played annually inside the special tournament area. However, the WSOP is considered a very special time of year for players and poker staff alike.

“We are always thrilled when the WSOP Circuit comes here,” said Andy Rich, Caesars Palace poker director. “This year we have ten official gold ring events, with buy-ins ranging from $350 up to the $1,600 Main Event Championship. As part of our player appreciation, every gold ring event which takes place here will have preceding satellites with either guaranteed or added seats. We love the idea of having our players qualify for WSOP Circuit gold ring events for as little as $70 on a daily basis. We’re looking forward to big fields, bigger prize pools and an overall great event here at Caesars Palace.”

All poker players who participate in WSOP Circuit events are eligible to compete in the National Championship point race. The top 100 players who qualify at each WSOP Circuit stop will compete in a nationally-televised championship, which will take place at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas in May. The inaugural tournament will have a prize pool of $1 million and will award a WSOP gold bracelet to the winner. The National Championship is held about a month after the WSOP Circuit stop concludes and is not to be confused with $1,600 buy-in Main Event, which is the last of ten gold ring events.

At least two players in the National Championship will come from the Caesars Palace series. Automatic qualifiers include the $1,600 buy-in Main Event winner as well as the Best All-Around Player who accumulates the most points in the ten gold ring events (overall).

Caesars Palace is currently offering special room rates to poker players participating in WSOP Circuit events. Please call 1-800-HARRAHS to inquire about these discounted rates.
