Cannery Casino & Hotel Presents Billy Ocean May 7
Grammy Award winning artist Billy Ocean will perform his famous hits “Caribbean Queen”, “Get Outta My Dreams”, “When The Going Gets Tough” and “Loverboy” at The Club, inside The Cannery Casino & Hotel on Saturday, May 7 at 8:30 p.m.
Billy Ocean is truly one of the world’s singers and songwriters with certified number one hits in the USA, Australia, Germany, Holland and the UK. He’s sold an astonishing 30 million records in his lifetime!
He was born in Trinidad and moved to Britain at the age of seven, where he would eventually be drawn to soul singers and the Motown style. Two record contracts later, he was traveling as a musician across the United States as well as in the UK, Europe, Canada and the Caribbean. He recently received the Lifetime Achievement award at the Music of Black Origin (MOBO) Awards ceremony in Liverpool.
After huge worldwide success, Ocean decided to take a break to spend some well earned time with his family. But in 2007, Billy went back out to perform his hits again, this time with his daughter Cherie on backing vocals. The tour was a great success and culminated in him getting the bug once more for writing and recording. In 2008 Billy went back in the studio for the first time in 15 years, recording his brand new album “Because I Love You”.
