Cannery Casino Resorts Most Successful Casino Blood Drive Sponsor for United Blood Services
Once again, Cannery Casino Resorts is the number one Casino Blood Drive sponsor for United Blood Services. From December 1, 2009 through November 30, 2010 Cannery Casino & Hotel, Eastside Cannery Casino & Hotel and Rampart Casino sponsored a total of 15 blood drives that resulted in the collection of 2,226 lifesaving units of blood.
Cannery Casino & Hotel placed number one on the list with five blood drives that collected a staggering 844 lifesaving units. Rampart Casino reached the number two spot by hosting six blood drives that netted 750 units while Eastside Cannery Casino & Hotel placed third on the list, sponsoring four blood drives that contributed 632 units.
“I am thrilled and truly proud that Cannery Casino Resorts’ blood drive sponsorship has led to an incredible amount of blood donations. Our team members and casino guests are always ready to do their part and this accomplishment, once again, shows how willing they are to help their community,” said Cannery Casino Resorts Chief Operating Officer Xavier Walsh. “I also want to take this time to praise all the casino properties who sponsor blood drives throughout the year. This is vital for our city and United Blood Services’ mission is worthy of the industry’s continued help.”

Without our casino partners we would not be able to help area hospitals save as many lives as they do,” states Amy Hutch, director of center operations for United Blood Services. “This is really an amazing contribution as each unit of blood donated can be separated into several components that can help save approximately three lives, so Cannery’s blood drive sponsorships actually benefited over 6,500 people!”
Committed to helping United Blood Services, Cannery Casino Resorts properties will continue to sponsor blood drives in 2011.
The next scheduled Blood Drive is at Cannery Casino & Hotel on Sunday, Dec. 19 from 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. and Monday, Dec. 20 from 11 a.m. – 7 p.m. and all who donate blood will be compensated for their generous gift with a complimentary Cannery Row Buffet for two.
