Cantor Gaming to Run Race & Sports Book at Cosmopolitan Las Vegas

The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas, opening December 15 on the Las Vegas Strip, announced today that it has entered into a partnership with Cantor Gaming to run the property’s race and sports book, which, subject to regulatory approval, is scheduled to begin operations in the first quarter of 2011.

“With cutting-edge technology and breakthrough wagering options, Cantor Gaming will give our guests the ultimate race and sports book experience,” said John Unwin, CEO, The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas.

The Sports Book will offer Cantor’s proprietary In-Running wagering technology, with which customers can place bets throughout live events. Cantor also will install its state-of-the-art mobile gaming system, eDeck, expected to be completed and operational in 2011. eDeck provides casino guests the ability to wager on sports and live events in regulatory-approved areas of the resort such as bars and restaurants and will include access to a broad range of casino-style, proprietary games.

Lee Amaitis, President and CEO of Cantor gaming, said: “We live in an on-demand world. Technology – and mobile in particular – is a fundamental part of our lives today and is key to attracting a new generation of gamblers to Las Vegas. I have seen first-hand how technology transformed the financial sector, increasing trading volumes and therefore revenues. We want to replicate this model in Las Vegas. We are thrilled The Cosmopolitan has partnered with Cantor Gaming’s Race & Sports, and mobile gaming technology as an element of the unique and exciting services the resort will offer its discerning customers.”

On December 15, 2010, The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas opens a unique luxury resort with a fresh perspective overlooking the heart of The Strip directly between CityCenter and Bellagio.  For more information visit: www.cosmopolitanlasvegas.com
