Celebrate National Moonshine Day June 6 in The Underground at The Mob Museum
The Underground
, the Prohibition history exhibition at The Mob Museum featuring a fully operational distillery and speakeasy, will pull out all the stops to host a celebration on National Moonshine Day on Thursday, June 6, from 9 a.m. to midnight.

Guests will experience an authentic and interactive celebration of the distinctive national holiday at The Underground with distillery tours, spirit tastings and cocktail demonstrations featuring The Underground’s signature, house-distilled moonshine.

During the 13 years Prohibition lasted, the demand for moonshine and other illegal liquor remained strong across the country creating big business for organized crime groups, such as Al Capone’s notorious Chicago Outfit and many more. The onsite distillery in The Underground produces a traditional, high-quality moonshine using a 100 percent corn mash. Distillery staff demonstrate each step of the process to teach guests about the manufacturing of liquor, as well as the history of bootlegging and moonshine’s place in Prohibition. National Moonshine Day, The Underground makes the perfect location to get into “the spirit” of the occasion.

Festivities and specials on National Moonshine Day to include:

  • Distillery tours and tastings
  • Souvenir moonshine bottle discounts
  • Moonshine cocktails and flavored moonshine infusion flights (Regular, Cinn-City and Ginger Jake), both offered for $10
  • Cocktail demonstrations
  • Live evening entertainment provided by The Old Fashions from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m.
