Comedy Icon Dana Carvey Returns to The Orleans Showroom Sept. 23-24

alumni and celebrated comedian Dana Carvey will perform at The Orleans Showroom on Sept. 23 and 24. 

Carvey rose to fame during a six-year stint on NBC’s “Saturday Night Live,” where he played several fan favorite recurring characters, including “Church Lady,” “Garth” and “Hans,” as well as spot-on impersonations of President George H.W. Bush, Johnny Carson, Ross Perot and Regis Philbin. Carvey’s work on “SNL” earned him six Emmy Award nominations, including a 1993 Award for Outstanding Individual Performance in a Variety or Music Program. He also received numerous American Comedy Awards and an MTV Movie Award for Best On-Screen Duo for his performance in “Wayne’s World.”

In addition to “SNL,” Carvey has appeared on “One of the Boys,” “Blue Thunder,” “The Larry Sanders Show,” “Just Shoot Me!,” “The Fairly OddParents,” and his self-titled 1996 series, “The Dana Carvey Show,” which also featured fellow comedians Steve Carell and Stephen Colbert, as well as “SNL” writer Robert Smigel.

On the big screen, Carvey starred in “Opportunity Knocks,” “Wayne’s World,” “Wayne’s World 2,” “Clean Slate,” “The Road to Wellville,” “The Master of Disguise” and “Jack and Jill.” He also contributed his voice to two recent animated features, “Hotel Transylvania 2” and “The Secret Life of Pets.”

Carvey most recently appeared on “Conan” where he performed impersonations of Donald Trump and Bernie Sanders. He also wrapped up the first season of his new game show on USA Network, “First Impressions.” In the show, Carvey, along with co-host Freddie Prinze Jr., hosts weekly competitions between America’s best emerging impressionists and special celebrity guests.
