Comedy Magician Adam London to Co-Host Brookman Elementary School Guinness World Record Weekend of Reading
Comedy Magician Adam London
will co-host the Brookman Elementary School Weekend of Reading Celebration. The weekend celebration will kick off Friday, March 9, when students and staff will attempt to break a Guinness World Record by laying 62,000 feet of pipe cleaner chain out on the school grounds. The links represent each book the students read and tested on, with an 80 percent comprehension or better from August 2017 to March 2018.

If successful, this will be Bookman’s second Guinness World Record that is reading-related.

On Saturday, Adam London will host his monthly “I Give A Duck” celebration at the D Las Vegas. All proceeds from Laughternoon ticket sales on March 10 will go back to Bookman Elementary School to help support their library and reading endeavors.

Adam London who performs his all-age friendly comedy magic show daily at the D Las Vegas, partnered with his wife, Alana London (Pronounced: Uh-LAY-Nuh), to sponsor the event by purchasing the pipe cleaner. Alana London, a 4th Grade School Teacher at Brookman Elementary School created the “Reading Makes Us Bright” program to get her students excited about reading, but did not stop there, she rallied the entire school to get involved in breaking the world record. The school plans to shatter the last world record, which was just under 35,000 feet.

Brookman Elementary School’s “Reading Makes Us Bright” program falls within Superintendent Pat Skorkowsky’s “Read by 3” initiative, which encourages students to be able to read on grade level by 3rd grade.
