David Spade to Bring Stand-up Act to The Venetian Jan. 1-3

The Venetian announced today that comedian and actor David Spade will join its incredible line-up of entertainment at The Venetian Resort-Hotel-Casino for a series of limited engagements in 2009. Best known for his sarcastic sense of humor and cutting one-liners, Spade’s stand-up performance runs 75 minutes and features real-life situations that only he can turn into comedy. Spade’s first engagement is scheduled for January 1 – 3, 2009 at 8 p.m. each night inside the 742-seat Venetian Showroom.

“2009 is going to be another great year for entertainment at The Venetian and we are excited to kick it off on with multi-talented comedian and performer, David Spade,” said Jason Gastwirth, corporate vice president of entertainment for Las Vegas Sands Corp. “Spade will make a great addition to our existing line-up of world class entertainment available at The Venetian.

“Everyone knows The Venetian is one of the most beautiful hotels on the strip. I am lucky I get to play there and I am looking forward to some fun shows in 2009,” said Spade.

David Spade has received multiple accolades for his roles as a stand-up comedian and actor in both television and movies, including Emmy and Golden Globe Award nominations. Spade first found fame in the early nineties as a regular cast member and writer for “Saturday Night Live” and continued his success starring in movies such as “Joe Dirt,” “Lost and Found,” “Black Sheep” and “Tommy Boy.” His success on the small screen continued with the hit television show “Just Shoot Me,” hosting Comedy Central’s “The Showbiz Show” and most recently starring in the CBS sitcom “Rules of Engagement.”
