DAYLIGHT Beach Club at Mandalay Bay to Open Saturday, May 25, Memorial Day Weekend
Andrew Sasson and The Light Group announce the opening of DAYLIGHT Beach Club at Mandalay Bay, a revolutionary open-air entertainment and nightlife destination that will premiere over Memorial Day Weekend.
Opening in time for the 2013 summer season, DAYLIGHT Beach Club is a departure from traditional Vegas pool parties, transporting guests from the hustle and bustle of The Strip to an upscale and chic tropical oasis. With inspiration drawn straight from the sands of Ibiza, DAYLIGHT Beach Club will bring sophistication, high-energy entertainment, fine cuisine, innovative technology and world-renowned DJs to the Las Vegas desert.
“I’ve spent years traveling and researching the international beach club scene and I’m confident that DAYLIGHT Beach Club will offer our guests a truly unique and unparalleled experience,” says Andrew Sasson, founder of The Light Group. “With our out-of-the-box thinking and design we are creating something unique with DAYLIGHT – and will once again revolutionize the day life and entertainment scene in Las Vegas and beyond.”
With a setting that evokes feelings of being on a tropical getaway, DAYLIGHT Beach Club will be the epicenter for both refined travelers and trendsetting locals, all who seek a change in Vegas’ characteristic pool scene. Centered around a luxurious pool with three wet decks, the 5,000-person DAYLIGHT Beach Club is the perfect setting to indulge. With 50,000 square feet of flexible outdoor space, DAYLIGHT allows the party to easily transition from day to night, always with Mandalay Bay as the backdrop. A 1,500-square-foot stage adorned with vines and metal mesh serves as the focal point of DAYLIGHT and is framed by six LED screens that will join forces to be a true Las Vegas interpretation of one of the most powerful stages in Ibiza.
Constantly pushing the boundaries and setting the standards in entertainment, The Light Group will welcome some of the world’s top DJs and performers at DAYLIGHT. Featured and resident DJs include Skrillex, Sebastian Ingrosso, Axwell, Alesso, Baauer, Nicky Romero and more. To match the caliber of talent, DAYLIGHT’s sound and lighting were designed by John Lyons.
Conceptualized by James Gundy, DAYLIGHT Beach Club will feature a Mediterranean color palette with cool shades of natural earth-based colors and organic tones. The outdoor venue will feature authentic Mexican wall sconces and fixtures, rustic planters and decorative ironwork in a desert landscape. The 4,400-square-foot pool will be framed by 70 daybeds, 23 cabanas and 2 bungalows that are all available by reservation. Following The Light Group’s commitment to personalized service, all cabanas come equipped with their own safes, and bungalows feature private restrooms, servers and pools.
As all Light Group venues do, DAYLIGHT Beach Club will feature a creative cocktail menu and delicious beach cuisine that strays from the average pool food. DAYLIGHT’s cocktails will be the perfect complement to its sexy and chic ambiance. Featured cocktails will include The Clooney, The Baja and DAYLIGHT White Sangria. Led by Corporate Executive Chef Brian Massie, DAYLIGHT’s culinary choices will include Maki Rolls, Cucumber Rolls and Tuna Sashimi.
DAYLIGHT Beach Club is one of five new venues that The Light Group is introducing at Mandalay Bay in 2013. Additional venues include a refreshed vision of Red Square, Citizens Kitchen & Bar, LIGHT Nightclub and a Japanese restaurant which will debut in the summer.
