Doo-Wop, R&B and Soul Hitmakers Little Anthony and The Imperials to Perform at The Orleans Showroom June 24
Formed in New York in the late 1950s, Little Anthony and The Imperials rose to fame with the release of their chart-topping hits “Tears on My Pillow,” “Two People in the World” and “Shimmy, Shimmy, Ko-Ko-Bop.”  (Pictured: Little Anthony Gourdine front row on left).

The doo-wop vocal group’s hit songs, outstanding performances and the youthful quality of lead singer Jerome “Little Anthony” Gourdine’s high-pitched falsetto voice began to win fans over from around the world. In the 1960s, the group released back-to-back top-10 hits, including “Goin’ Out of my Head” and “Hurt So Bad.”

Over their nearly 60-year career, Little Anthony and The Imperials has had 20 singles on the R&B and pop charts in three separate decades, showing their music and popularity have withstood the test of time. In celebration of their musical accomplishments, the group received the Pioneer Award from the Rhythm and Blues Foundation in 1993 and were inducted into the Vocal Group Hall of Fame in 1999. In 2009, the group was also inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

The group’s current lineup includes original members Jerome “Little Anthony” Gourdine and Ernest Wright, along with Robert Deblanc and Johnny Britt.
