Downtown Las Vegas Celebrates Halloween Like No Other

This time last week, the biggest Halloween party in the whole city took place at none other than the Fremont Street Experience. Specifically, the D Las Vegas, Golden Gate, and soon-to-be Circa Las Vegas, were flooded with all kinds of holiday spirit… all weekend long (Pictured: the D Casino Hotel owner Derek Stevens, his wife Nicole and staff dress up for Halloween 2019).

Each year “spooky season” creeps around, the heart of downtown Las Vegas seems do outdo themselves. Last Thursday night, the festivities began quite early. Derek Stevens (owner of the D, Golden Gate, and their future sister property, Circa Las Vegas), his lovely wife Nicole, Vice President Mike Palm, and their “D” crew took the casino by storm with their costumes.

Snow White, The Evil Queen, and the seven dwarfs marched through the casino chanting along to “Heigh Ho” (with the exception of The Evil Queen, of course). They stopped at the world-famous Longbar, where dozens of guests were awestruck by their holiday spirit, especially considering the owner himself, Derek Stevens was a part of this epic group.

The fashion statements didn’t stop there, though. From Pennywise, to LEGOs, to popular beverages, and everything in between, DTLV most likely came into contact with every Halloween costume imaginable that evening.

Not to mention, Fremont Street Experience threw their annual Halloween Costume Contest right on the 3rd Street Stage outside the D, which included over 30 of the most creative ensembles the acclaimed downtown hot spot has to date.

The entertainment was nothing short of spectacular, either. First, the talented dancing DJs of SP Entertainment got their spook on Fremont with their showstopping “Wicked Dreams” production.

Afterwards, seven-time Best of Las Vegas winner, Zowie Bowie, took center stage with the beautiful Nieve Malandra from 11PM-2AM. Also, they were sure to wear different costumes during each set. Hey – it’s Halloween in Vegas, the best time to go all-out for a holiday celebration.

After parties are a must on nights like those, and the Golden Gate Hotel & Casino has been an iconic late-night hangout since they opened all the way back in 1906. Rocking the Main Street Stage was renowned Las Vegas party band, Velvet Elvis, belting out everything from rap, rock, soul, R&B, to current top 40 hits.

The 2019 Halloween celebration near 1 Fremont St. was a special one, because earlier this year, Derek Stevens announced his upcoming casino/resort, Circa Las Vegas, which is currently under construction right across from the Golden Gate (aka the “Vegas Classic). That being said, one can only imagine downtown’s future parties, come December 2020 – Circa’s debut date.

Even after the initial Thursday night Halloween festivities, Derek and Nicole turned it into a Hallo-weekend. Friday night, the couple dressed up as Wednesday Addams and Pugsley Addams (with Nicole’s purse doubling as Cousin Itt).

Saturday evening, the duo hung out at the Longbar as Inspector Clouseau and the Pink Panther. Yes, the D’s loyal guests were awestruck once again.
