Eight Rooftop Locations Set for America’s Party New Year’s Eve Fireworks Display

Officials from Las Vegas Events and the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority (LVCVA) joined city leaders and Fireworks by Grucci today at the Fashion Show Mall on the Las Vegas Strip to announce the details for America’s Party 2012, the citywide New Year’s Eve Party planned for Dec. 31.

The fireworks extravaganza on the Las Vegas Strip and Fremont Street will ring in 2012 in classic Las Vegas style. The theme of the pyrotechnic display will be “Dance – Las Vegas,” featuring distinctive music and colors to ring in the New Year.

The firing locations include (from the south, heading north): Tropicana Las Vegas, MGM Grand, Aria, Planet Hollywood, Caesars Palace, Treasure Island (TI), The Venetian and Stratosphere.

As a culmination to a full year of planning, Fireworks by Grucci has coordinated an 8 minute, 36 second program, consisting of more than 56,400 effects that will light up the Las Vegas Strip. At the outset, a barrage of blue and green aerial shells, highlighted by thunderous titanium flash salutes, will light up the sky. During the Party Rock Anthem sequence, the sky will flash with shells of Lemon Strobs followed by Yellow and Green Chrysanthemums then followed by Green and Gold Coconut Shells. The show will continue with a multitude of effects, including Twinkling Willows, Gold Twinkling Mines with Purple Pearl Comets, Pink Peonies, Red and Blue Comets and Powder Blue Star Shells. The finale will feature a volley of Silver Bees followed by barrages of Red, Green, Blue and Silver Color Shells ending with a thunderous roar of Titanium Salutes and Red Strobbing Tiger Tails.

“It doesn’t get any better than celebrating New Year’s in Las Vegas, the Entertainment Capital of the World,” Mayor Carolyn G. Goodman said. “We offer the best entertainment, restaurants, shopping and hotels, and we also have the best New Year’s party whether you are on the world-famous Las Vegas Strip or downtown on Fabulous Fremont Street.”

“America’s Party has become one of the most anticipated events of the year, and this year the display is themedas ‘Dance – Las Vegas,” said Las Vegas Events President Pat Christenson. “We will coordinate this display for the thousands of revelers on the Strip and those watching around the world. A production of this scope would not be possible without the cooperation between the LVCVA, Las Vegas Events, Fireworks by Grucci, the Clark County Fire Department and Building Services and the individual resort properties.”

According to the LVCVA, Las Vegas continues to be a huge draw for a New Year’s Eve celebration.

“It comes as no surprise that Las Vegas will once again be the destination of choice to ring in the New Year,” said Chair of the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority and Clark County Commissioner Tom Collins. “Las Vegas expects to welcome nearly 315,000 visitors this New Year’s Eve.”

Fireworks by Grucci is world renowned for its pyrotechnic creations. The group recently created the spectacular Grand Opening of the Atlantis Hotel and The Palm Jumeirah in Dubai and has executed numerous presidential inaugurations and citywide celebrations. Locally, Fireworks by Grucci has produced many of Las Vegas’ largest special events and grand openings, including the official Las Vegas Centennial celebration.

“The Grucci Family is honored and proud to once again have the opportunity to paint the heavens with a tapestry of color and bombardment that only Fireworks by Grucci can deliver,” said Felix Grucci, executive vice president of Fireworks by Grucci. “As we prepare to leave 2011 in the past and enter 2012, America’s Party will come alive with music, parties, good wishes and the most spectacular fireworks display in the country.”

America’s Party is the official moniker coined by the LVCVA and Las Vegas Events to signify the annual citywide celebration. Those include tribute performances to AC/DC, Led Zeppelin, Rolling Stones, U2, Bon Jovi, Depeche Mode, INXS, No Doubt, Red Hot Chili Peppers, and Van Halen.
