El Cortez Hotel & Casino Opens Ike’s; Bar Expansion Includes New Lounge Seating Options, Sports Viewing Area
El Cortez Hotel & Casino
, the longest continually-running hotel and casino in Las Vegas, announces the opening of new bar Ike’s on its casino floor. The bar, now open to the public, includes new lounge seating and a sports viewing area.

Located in front of live Keno on the casino floor near the corner of 7th Street and Fremont Street, Ike’s incorporates the previous bar area along with new elements including lounge seating, wood flooring and a sports viewing area with ten 55” TVs and three 65” TVs. The existing bar area doubled in size from 650 square feet to 1,300 square feet. At the bar, Siegel’s Gameside will offer the full Siegel’s 1941 menu, and the same bar-top games that were offered prior to the expansion will be available to players.

Some of the unique design details present in the space include a custom-built communal table displaying vintage chips from the El Cortez collection. Plush furniture offers everyone from laptop workers to nighttime revelers places to get comfortable.

“Ike is a nickname that has been in our family for generations,” said Alexandra Epstein Gudai, Partner and Executive Manager of El Cortez Hotel & Casino. “It’s a nod to Ike Epstein, my father Kenny’s father; who also lends his name to our operating company, IKE Gaming, Inc. The new bar will be a space for people to have a drink, watch sports and mingle with the community during private events, and we’re excited for the public to enjoy it.”

Ike Epstein was a bookmaker from Chicago who moved to Las Vegas in 1959 to help open the Stardust Resort and Casino.
