Esquire, the original men’s magazine and the premier authority on men’s style for 75 years, is for the fifth year in search for the “Best Dressed Real Man in America,” encouraging men across the country to enter the sartorial competition. The contest began on February 17 and will continue through April 27, with the winner announced in September on NBC’s “TODAY” show.

Only one live “Best Dressed Real Man” event will be taking place, and it is happening on Friday, April 17 at The Bank nightclub at Bellagio from 8 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. This Best Dressed Real Man in America event and Style Lounge will offer fashionable men the opportunity to register for the contest in person (and in style) while enjoying a Kenneth Cole trunk show, a Nivea for Men grooming station, a display of IWC Schaffhausen watches, Gentleman Jack specialty cocktails, complimentary Michelob ULTRA and hors d’oeuvres.

For those who can’t make it to The Bank, signing up couldn’t be any easier and is now more interactive than ever. Contestants can register at www.esquirebdrm.com, and there are only four requirements: (1) entries must be submitted by April 27; (2) a minimum of three photos must be uploaded, including a close-up, a face-and-torso shot and a full-body shot; (3) a profile with relevant personal details must be completed; and (4) entrants should posses a certain individual style. The entry period ends on April 27.

New to the contest this year is the ability for candidates to link their “Best Dressed Real Man in America” profiles directly to their Facebook accounts, where supporters and fans can monitor the activity of the contest.

Also new is the “audience pick.” In late April, a panel of Esquire editors will pare the entries down to 25 semi-finalists, who will be revealed on www.esquirebdrm.com on May 1. Readers will then vote for their favorite semi-finalists online until May 31, when the top candidate, or “audience pick,” will be revealed. Esquire editors will choose the remaining four finalists. Of the many expected to enter, these five finalists will ultimately be selected and flown to New York City for a secret photo shoot with Esquire Fashion Director Nick Sullivan for the magazine’s September “Style” issue. All five finalists will be revealed when the September issue hits newsstands in mid-August.

The ultimate winner – America’s Best Dressed Real Man – will be unveiled on NBC’s “TODAY” show in September, and will receive a prize package worth over $30,000, which includes a Nivea for Men Work Smarter, Play Harder Bonus: $15,000 plus a year supply of Nivea for Men products, a $10,000 wardrobe from Kenneth Cole and Esquire, a VIP trip for two to New York to attend a runway show during Fashion Week, and an IWC Schaffhausen watch.

Last year’s “Best Dressed Real Man in America” was Kenyatte Nelson, a brand manager from Cincinnati, Ohio.

The sponsors of Esquire’s “Best Dressed Real Man in America” competition are Kenneth Cole, Nivea for Men and IWC Schaffhausen.
