Fashion Icon Jean Paul Gaultier Visits a Trio of Cirque du Soleil Shows in Las Vegas
Famed French fashion icon Jean Paul Gaultier paid a quick visit to Las Vegas this week and kept himself busy taking in three Cirque du Soleil shows in two days: Zumanity – The Sensual Side of Cirque du Soleil at New York-New York Hotel & Casino on March 26; Viva ELVIS at ARIA Resort & Casino and KÀ and MGM Grand on March 27 (Pictured above: Jean Paul Gaultier poses with two dancers from Viva ELVIS – Photo credit: Meskerem Mitiku Cotton/Cashman Photography).

Monsieur Gaultier entered the KÀ Theatre with a gasp followed by “Superbe!” as he made his way to his seat. It was the world-renowned designer’s second visit to Zumanity and the first time seeing Viva ELVIS and KÀ. At each performance he took time for a special moment with members of the cast. One dancer at Viva ELVIS keeps a picture of one of his couture creations in her dressing room which he autographed for her. He thanked the cast of KÀ for “creating art on stage” and promised he would be back for another visit. And at the end of his visit to Zumanity someone suggested that he should design the costumes for the next Cirque du Soleil production, to which he responded, “You’re right, I should!”
