- What better way to celebrate Pink Flamingo Day than to visit the 10 namesake Chilean flamingos that reside at the Flamingo Wildlife Habitat? These fascinating birds can withstand temperatures from 20 below zero degrees Fahrenheit up to 120 degrees Fahrenheit in the heat of summer. In addition to the flamingos, the habitat is home to more than 60 exotic birds as well as 20 turtles and more than 300 large fish. This free, family-friendly attraction spans approximately four acres with 400,000 gallons of fresh water filling its nine ponds. Feedings are held at 8:30 a.m. and 2 p.m. on Pelican Island.
