Free Concert Series to be Held in The Lounge at The Palms

Over the past year, The Lounge inside the Palms Casino Resort has offered guests affordable and intimate entertainment offerings. The Lounge continues to provide a breadth of entertainment options with the addition of free shows. All lounge performances are open to the public; 21 years of age and older.

FREE CONCERT SERIES LINEUP

Artist: Chuck Ragan

Date: Friday, Feb. 25

Time: Midnight

Cost: FREE

Description: Former Hot Water music front man, Chuck Ragan, has become a musical troubadour, growing from punk rock to releasing a string of well-received solo acoustic efforts. Ragan released his first solo album in 2007, Los Feliz, which was a live album featuring Ragan, his guitar and a harmonica. Ragan began touring alongside acts including Flogging Molly, Dustin Kensrue and others. His latest album, Gold Country (2009), boasts the sound of a talented songwriter playing simple songs alongside a close group of friends not for hope of financial gains, but because he literally has no other choice.

Artist: Songwriters Showcase with B. Wash, Kevin Hayashi & Clouded Vision, Splitbreed, Barry Black

Description: With articulate precision and uncanny energy, B. Wash is an up and coming California emcee not to be missed. Clouded Vision is a California-based group, fronted by Kevin Hayashi, that blends rock and reggae. Las Vegas-based Splitbreed blends a unique sound of hip-hop, R&B, rap and Island style. Singer/songwriter Barry Black is a name in the local acoustic scene with his soulful sounds. Highly influenced by the sounds of the classic soul era, other styles and genres can also be heard in his music.

Description: Based in Las Vegas, Red Eye Radio is unlike other “cover bands” in the city, diving into alternative, college-radio-esque set lists. The group included The Novelty Act’s Bryan Todd and The Big Friendly Corporation’s drummer Michael McDonald.

Description: The Spring Break Music Festival features an eclectic group of live performances. Headlined by Los Angeles’ Saint Motel whose recently released debut EP ForPlay showcases the raw energy Saint Motel brings not only to their music, but their live performances.

Other stand outs include Damato whose pop sounds flow with originality including touches or rock and soul. As well as buzz band Parade of Lights whose members, who have been on tour with Hello Goodbye, 30 Seconds to Mars and Metro Station, reformed from a past project to come together as Parade of Lights. Three songs from their self-released EP received placements on VH1 and the E! networking, garnering the band considerable attention from the music and television industries.

Artist: Planet LA Records Showcase with Djinn, Evolove and Native June

Description: Planet LA Records artist Djinn is a Southern California experimental alternative rock band set to perform with label mates Evolove and Native June. Female-fronted rockers Evolove were chosen as one of Music Connection magazine’s Hot 100 Unsigned Artists of 2010 and shortly after, signed to Planet LA Records.

Artist: Monte Pittman

Description: Originating from Longview, Texas, Monte Pittman moved to LA in 1999 and began giving guitar lessons to filmmaker Guy Ritchie. Those lessons led to an introduction to Ritchie’s wife, Madonna and Pittman went on to teach the material girl as well. Over the past decade, Pittman has played with Madonna on tour and in studio, and was the guitar player for industrial rock band Prong. Currently, Pittman is the lead guitarist and music director for Adam Lambert’s live band. Pittman continues to be in high demand as a live musician, singer, songwriter and producer/co-producer. Recently, Pittman released The Deepest Dark, his first solo effort which he describes as “…coming out of the black, into the light.”

Artist: FXP – Franky Perez

Description: Singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist and awe-inspiring performer, performs rock ‘n roll covers. Ozzy Osbourne personally chose him to perform at his tribute ceremony during the Sunset Strip Music Festival 2009. As an honorary member of all-star super group Camp Freddy, Perez has performed with Billy Gibbons, Slash, Courtney Love, Chrissie Hynde and Robin Zander, among others. At the mic with Slash and Friends, he’s been backed by such greats as Ronnie Wood, Jason Bonham, Slash and Ringo Starr. He’s also performed with Velvet Revolver, Metallica and plays guitar for Scars On Broadway. Perez has also made time for three full concert tours for troops in Iraq.

Artist: One Too Many at Midnight starring Joey McIntyre of New Kids on the Block and Emanuel Kiriakou

Description: Joey McIntyre and Emanuel Kiriakou put their multi-instrumental talents to use with a high-energy performance that pairs the two notable names in a fun, stripped-down, acoustic setting performing familiar songs from all genres of music. Fans may find McIntyre leading the audience in a sing along to Taylor Swift’s “You Belong With Me,” belting out a New Kids on the Block classic or riffing back and forth with Kiriakou. Kiriakou is a singer, songwriter and producer who has worked with the likes of David Archuleta, Whitney Houston, Nick Lachey, Celine Dion and more. The camaraderie of the two artists allows a unique glimpse into an uninhibited jam session that will leave fans with the experience of a lifetime.
