Gavin Degraw Poolside at Hard Rock Las Vegas July 9

Platinum-selling singer, songwriter and musician Gavin DeGraw is teaming up with the premier destination entertainment resort in Las Vegas, Hard Rock Hotel & Casino for a special poolside performance on Saturday, July 9 – (doors 7 pm) for VIPS, contest winners, and industry elite.

Gavin will be performing new material from his forthcoming album SWEETER, set for release August 9. Singer/songwriter BC Jean will have the opening slot for the evening where select contest winners from across the country via participating Hot AC Radio stations will be able to win tickets to experience this intimate, acoustic, one time only concert event.

Gavin just released his new single “Not Over You” on June 7 on iTunes with the album pre-order for SWEETER (RCA Records) available now at www.gavindegraw.com and other digital retailers . His brand new video for “Not Over You” premiered earlier this week on VH1’s live morning show “Big Morning Buzz Live” and on VH1.com.

Entertainment Weekly describes Gavin’s brand new single, “Not Over You” which debuted most added at the Hot AC format as “a soulful majestic ballad” and People Magazine declares the “hot single” Gavin’s “welcome return” to the airwaves. Perez Hilton calls Not Over Youpower pop at its best. Truly awesome!” and Us Weekly raves “DeGraw is back with another infectiously plaintive hook on his new single…So until his next full CD Sweeter drops on August 9, soak up this sweet ditty.”

SWEETER, his fourth album, finds Gavin co-writing for the first time in his career on a few of the album tracks, including his work with fellow piano player and master helmer/writer Ryan Tedder, who co-wrote and produced the album’s first single “Not Over You,” and the title track “Sweeter,” as well as with Andrew Frampton (The Script, Natasha Bedingfield). Gavin also worked with a host of top-notch producers including Butch Walker (Weezer, Avril Lavigne), Eric Rosse (Sara Bareilles, Tori Amos) and Ron Aniello (Barenaked Ladies, Matt Nathanson).

The album finds the New York native — beloved for his blue-eyed soul vocals, freewheeling melodies and earthy charm — experimenting with new sounds, which resulted in a potent, swaggering strut, both musically and lyrically, on sexually charged songs such as the R&B-infused “Sweeter” and “Radiation.” The racier moments are balanced out by more emotionally transparent songs like the vigorous “Not Over You,” and the uplifting “Soldier” and “You Know Where I’m At,” which convey a vulnerability while still managing to feel distinctly masculine.

Gavin first broke through with the 2003 release of his debut album, Chariot, which sold more than a million copies, earned platinum certification and yielded three hit singles: “I Don’t Want To Be,” “Follow Through” and the title-track, “Chariot.” Gavin’s self-titled second album debuted at No. 1 on the digital sales chart and at No. 7 on Billboard’s Top 200 album chart in 2008, earning Gavin his first Top 10 album. It spawned the hit singles “In Love With A Girl,” and the gold-certified “We Belong Together.” In 2009, Gavin released Free as a gift to his die-hard fans clamoring for recorded versions of Gavin’s live favorites. Gavin has made numerous appearances on television shows like The Late Show with David Letterman, The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, Live with Regis & Kelly, Good Morning America, and many others.

Gavin will hit the road in July with TRAIN and Maroon 5 beginning July 22 for an extensive North American tour this summer.
