Get Groovy with the Village People, Gloria Gaynor and other ’70s Icons at the Orleans Arena July 11

Gloria GaynorOn July 11, the Orleans Arena will become Las Vegas’ largest discotheque for a night at the KKLZ Disco Bash featuring such famed disco acts as the Village People, Gloria Gaynor, Tavares and the Trammps.  More than just a concert, the event will be a far-out dance party, and attendees will be encouraged to shake their groove “thang” and bust out old- school moves like the boogie and the hustle.

Village People, the disco-era legends that take the stage dressed as an Indian chief, G.I., construction worker, police officer, cowboy and biker, have been entertaining audiences with hits such as “Macho Man,” “In The Navy” and “YMCA” for three decades.

Gloria Gaynor, known the world over for her ballad “I Will Survive,” has been setting dance music standards for more than 35 years. Crowned “Queen of Disco” in 1975, Gaynor’s other smash anthems include “Never Can Say Good-Bye” and “Just Keep Thinkin’ About You.”

A disco, funk and soul super group of brothers, Tavares, released a string of ‘70s hits, including “More Than a Woman” from Saturday Night Fever, “She’s Gone,” “Heaven Must Be Missing An Angel” and “It Only Takes A Minute.”

The Trammps were named top disco group of the year in 1976 by Billboard magazine as their debut album “Where The Happy People Go” raced up the charts. The group was also featured on the Saturday Night Fever soundtrack with their smash hit, “Disco Inferno.”

The show will begin at 8 p.m. Tickets are now on sale, and are priced at $45, inclusive of tax and fees. Advanced ticket price if purchased prior to June 15 is $35. Tickets can be purchased at the Orleans Arena Box Office by calling 702.284.7777 or by visiting www.orleansarena.com.
