De Laurentiis spoke with the students and answered questions about her career, cooking, eating healthy and much more. To celebrate the occasion, she served each of the students a sampling of her famous Antipasti Salad from Pronto by Giada, complete with the recipe for the students to take home. Following the in-room visit, De Laurentiis toured the outdoor garden that was built nearly one year ago and now boasts a variety of freshly grown fruits, vegetables and herbs.

Green Our Planet is one of the largest school garden programs in the United States operating in more than 150 schools throughout the Clark County School District. The school gardens are a great way to reconnect students to the wonders of nature, where they are able to learn about how to take care of a garden, as well as the planet. The Green Our Planet’s Outdoor Garden STEAM Program helps public and private schools raise funding for outdoor school gardens and implements comprehensive programming so that students can learn a variety of subjects including STEAM, health and nutrition. In addition, Green Our Planet hosts the largest student-run farmers market in the United States twice a year.
