Gold Spike Announces 2019 ‘Down & Derby’ Event Lineup
Gold Spike, downtown Las Vegas’ premier adult playground skates into 2019 with a fresh lineup for Down & Derby, the funkiest party on wheels! Starting Wednesday, March 20th and continuing every third Wednesday, Gold Spike elevates the ‘Backyard’ experience with the addition of Down & Derby’s retro roller rink. The renowned roller disco soiree features nightly contests, prizes, drink specials and special guest DJs.

With over 10 years in the Las Vegas Valley, Down & Derby brings its collective of local musicians, artists and performers to Wednesday’s at Gold Spike offering an event part party, part carnival. With fresh additions to the ‘Backyard’ including new games, added bars and incoming attractions, Gold Spike continues to lead innovation in downtown Las Vegas nightlife.
Wednesday, March 20th – 2019 Premier Event
Skate fever sets in at Gold Spike! The skate-fest starts at 10 p.m. and the “funkiest party on wheels” rolls into the ‘Backyard’ for another season of roller-skates, conga lines and late nights. Disco and derby enthusiasts alike are invited to break out the bellbottoms and polyester as roller-skaters are encouraged to dress in their shiniest throwback styles. Enjoy drink specials, contests and giveaways throughout the duration of the derby – so do the hustle!
Wednesday, April 17th – Jack Be Limbo
Gold Spike sets the bar high while guests get low for Down & Derby’s famous limbo contest! With the aid of drink specials and bangin’ beats, skaters will test the limits of how low they can go. The skater with the best hustle & flow will glide home with $500 and bask in groovy glory.
Wednesday, May 15th – Rock Bottom Disco 4: Booty Short Contest
Skater’s got back! ‘Down & Derby’s’ booty short skate contest is all about that badonkadonk. Booty-shaking skaters can enjoy drink specials and music from DJs Phoreyz & SHR3D all night long. The skater with the most impressively dressed derrière will win $250 in cash and prizes.
Wednesday, June 19th – The Industry Roller Games
Down & Derby invites Las Vegas Industry big-wigs to duke it out for king (or queen) of nightlife on the ‘Backyard’s’ roller rink turned racetrack! Six Industry leaders will have the opportunity to go head-to-head and race for who’s who supremacy with the ultimate winner taking home a trophy and pair of state of the art skates.
Bring the funk every third Wednesday of the Month for the rest of the summer.
