This year’s production, entitled Rockin’ the Ribbon, will take place Sunday, June 28, at 1 p.m. at The Tropicana Theater at The New Tropicana Las Vegas

“For nearly 30 years, Golden Rainbow has brought the most talented performers in Las Vegas together on one stage for one mission: to raise awareness for those affected by HIV/AIDS,” said Golden Rainbow Executive Director Gary Costa. “Music has the power to change lives and this year, we are celebrating that with a rock and roll themed show.”

Rockin’ the Ribbon will bring the Las Vegas entertainment community together to rock the house to benefit men, women, and children living in Clark County whose lives are affected by HIV/AIDS. Golden Rainbow encourages submissions from singers, dancers, performers, artists and choreographers for a wide variety of Rock and Roll themed production numbers, including Classic Rock, Broadway themed performances, Contemporary Pop Rock, Rock Opera, and Rock and Roll themed movies.

The casting call welcomes diverse acts that will allow the “Ribbon of Life” directors and choreographers to expand their ideas and imagination. Talent may include solo, duet, small cast (fewer than 10 performers), large cast, or montages. All entries must be submitted to Golden Rainbow via email by Friday, April 24 at 5 p.m. Email submissions can be sent to Barry Morgan at barry.morgan@hotmail.com.

Ribbon of Life was created 29 years ago by members of the entertainment industry who saw a need for a support system when one of their colleagues was diagnosed with HIV/AIDS. To raise awareness and money in order to help fight the disease, entertainers organized a show. The show, then called “Golden Rainbow,” led to the creation of the nonprofit organization. The annual event is one of the largest HIV/AIDS fundraisers in the state of Nevada and is Golden Rainbow’s main source of revenue.

Tickets and sponsorship packages will be available for purchase in the coming weeks. For more information, please visit www.goldenrainbow.org.
