Halloween Celebration That Hit Downtown Las Vegas

If you’ve got it, haunt it. The patrons of the D Casino Hotel, and their sister property, Golden Gate Hotel and Casino, know this all too well. Downtown Vegas is a party (and after party) magnet on numerous holidays, but Halloween in particular is the busiest night of the year, full of “you had to be there” moments, one-of-a-kind costumes, and nonstop entertainment (Pictured: Casino Owner Derek Stevens and wife Nicole (on Derek’s left) as Willy Wonka characters –  Photo credit: the D Casino Hotel)

Between having one of the longest bars in the country, and the all-day, all-night entertainment on Fremont Street Experience’s 3rd Street stage,  the D Casino Hotel was jam-packed with that Hallows’ Eve spirit until daybreak. Nearly everyone, including the staff, went all out for the evening and showed off their spook-tacular getups.

The casino owner himself, Derek Stevens, took the perfect opportunity to celebrate his favorite holiday with “Pure Imagination”. He showed up dressed to impress in his spot-on Willy Wonka attire, while his wife, Nicole, and his D crew portrayed the adorable Oompa Loompas. Heads definitely turned as Derek and friends happily paraded over to the LONGBAR to take photos with his loyal customers.

Even celebrities were perfectly aware of the go-to Halloween hangout in Vegas! World-famous WWE and WCW superstar, Bill Goldberg, spent his haunted holiday at the D for his second year. He was joined by the man of MMA himself, Randy Couture, and his lovely girlfriend/actress, Mindy Robinson. The pair disguised themselves as another famous duo – country songbirds Kenny Rogers and Dolly Parton. While they were hanging out and rocking out in the D’s VIP box, they also took time to admire the costume of former NHL player and current D Executive Casino Host, Darren Banks.

As the night went on, many started heading down the street and over to 1 Fremont St. – Golden Gate, the home of the after-parties. The Golden Gate, also referred to as the “Vegas classic”, is Derek Steven’s other casino, where he tends to spend his early A.M. hours (and the festivities are far from over). For many downtown party-goers, it’s common of them to migrate back-and-forth from one of Derek’s popular properties to the other. Those who couldn’t spot Mr. Stevens at LONGBAR were nearly sure to find him spending time at Golden Gate’s iconic Bar Prohibition – known to be the hotspot bar for the legendary Rat Pack back in the day.

Though the D and Golden Gate have witness countless holidays, parties, and celebrations, none of them ever fail to be one for the books (or the Instagram).
