Hash House A Go Go Chef Anthony Vidal Wins First Silver Plate Celebrity Chef Contest
Hash House A Go Go chef Anthony Vidal won the first Silver Plate Celebrity Chef Contest held as a fundraiser for the Family Resource Center at UMC at Silver Ridge Healthcare Center (Pictured above: Silver Ridge Celeb Chef Contest Joline Huren, Shanda Alcantara & Chef Vidal).
“It is so important to give back to the community,” said Chef Vidal when he accepted his silver plate trophy.
Other participating chefs in the inaugural event included: Aaron Moran – Hard Rock Café; Kiko Ojeda – The Palm – Las Vegas; and Shawn Wilder -Second Street Grill at the Fremont. Chefs prepared an appetizer trio plate with key ingredients aha! Panca Flavor Enhancer made from Peruvian Peppers and butter provided by Sysco that was provided to them prior to the event. The winner received $500 and a prestigious silver recognition plate.
Event organizer Shanda Alcantara, area director sales and marketing for Silver Hills and Silver Ridge Healthcare Centers, came up with the idea for this fundraiser because of her food background that includes manufacturing and selling aha! products. “Everyone really enjoyed participating and voting for their favorite creations.”
Proceeds from the event will go to support the Family Resource Center at UMC and monies from the raffle will help Three Square. UMC clinical manager, Lisa Marie Pacheco said, “What Silver Ridge has done for the Family Resource Center will enable every baby to go home in a brand new set of clothes and new blanket. Every baby deserves to start off their life in a new set of clothes.”
Karen Gordon, UMC pediatric services coordinator added, “We see the partnership with Silver Ridge as a long standing one that we’d love to continue.”
Other major sponsors for the outdoor tasting event held on Tuesday, March 29, 2011, from 2-4 p.m. included: Mantro Mobile Imaging; Diagnostic Laboratories and Radiology; BON Laboratories; Meetings and Events Las Vegas; and Fierro Communications.
