Hemlock Launches 25th Anniversary Tour with a Stop in Downtown Las Vegas in May
Get ready to celebrate 25 years of heavy metal music with Las Vegas-based group Hemlock as they prepare for their 25th Anniversary Tour launching Friday, April 20. The Las Vegas natives will be winding around North America and will be making a stop in their hometown at Backstage Bar & Billiards on Saturday, May 5, joined by fellow heavy metal band SevidemiC and local acts NE Last Words and Mastiv.

Heavy metal outfit Hemlock started in 1993 in Las Vegas, Nevada and consists of vocalist and bassist Chad Smith, guitarist James Gelber, guitarist and background vocals Jezy Ward, and drummer Brian Smith. The band’s unique sound is a heavy blend of chugging riffs, deep bass tones, rhythmic grooves, and catchy lyrics with a haberdasher of melodies mixed in. The lyrics are always creative and positive and the songs have tons of screams along with catchy hooks. The band has been dubbed “The Kings of Self-Promotion” and have been noted one of the hardest working up-and-coming metal bands.

Hemlock also puts on a very entertaining and memorable live show, getting the entire crowd involved and putting on a show of a lifetime, every time. Since their start, they have release eight full-length albums and have toured the U.S., Canada, Europe, and Japan. Some well-named bands they have had the pleasure of sharing the stage with include Slayer, Slipknot, Ministry, Meshuggah, Otep, Disturbed, Hatebreed, Lamb of God, Chimaira, Snot, Devil Driver, Machine Head, Mastodon, and more.

The hometown show starts at 8:30 p.m. with doors at 8 p.m. Tickets start at $10, plus taxes and fees, and are available now at www.smashmagazine.com or via the Smash Magazine app available on Apple and Android. This is a 21 and over show.

Backstage Bar & Billiards, or “Triple B,” is part upscale billiards lounge and part rock ‘n’ roll museum and homage to subculture.  The venue in downtown Las Vegas features some of the world’s biggest DJs, live musical acts and is often considered to be one of Vegas’ best spots to play some pool and have a brew.  For more information, please visit www.601Fremont.com or @601Fremont.
