Aliante Casino + Hotel proudly presents Hot Club of Las Vegas every Thursday in February inside ETA Lounge 6pm-9pm, no cover charge.
Hot Club of Las Vegas combines outstanding musicianship with fresh, innovative ideas and musical programming. The fiery Gypsy guitar playing of Mundo Juillerat meets the smooth, sultry vocals of Noybel Gorgoy as they explore a delicious mix of Django Reinhardt compositions, Latin rhythms and jazz ballads. There is never a dull moment from the best Gypsy band of the West!
The concept for HCLV began in the late ‘90s when Juillerat, (the Fly’n Hawaiian) was fortunate enough to meet and hang out with his favorite guitarist Jeff Beck. Thatnight, he learned that one of Beck’s favorite guitarists was Django Reinhardt, the French gypsy guitarist of the 1930s. It was Reinhardt’s music that inspired Juillerat to collaborate with versatile bass player Christopher Davis and form the base of the group in 2006. Percussion was added soon after with the addition of monster drummer, Gabriel Santana Falcon, on the cajon (or box) followed by Marlow Valentin as the rhythm guitarist.
Originally only an acoustic instrumental group, the band decided they wanted to expand upon the traditional gypsy jazz sound and add vocals and violin thus introducing Cuban salsa star Noybel Gorgoy and violinist Andrianna Thurber. Join HCLV inside ETA Lounge every Thursday in February to celebrate the music of past and present including Flamenco Rhumbas, Tangos, Bossa Novas and other world beat rhythms.
