House of Blues Headliner Carlos Santana Unveils Community Bench for Habitat for Humanity
Thursday morning, House of Blues headliner Carlos Santana, alongside Henderson Mayor Debra March, stood on the front steps of Henderson City Hall and unveiled a 3rd bench in a series of 5 community benches for Habitat for Humanity (Photo credit: Patrick Gray / www.KabikPhotoGroup.com).

This bench titled “PEACE” was created by artist Justin Leppar and local woodworker Urban Wood Worx

These benches are being created in honor of Santana to live within Habitat for Humanity’s historical project that features multiple homes being built in the Pittman community of Henderson.

Since the project first started last September, two homeowners have already moved into the area. This 3rd bench will live at Henderson City Hall until placed into the Pittman neighborhood.

The artist said he utilized the ancient technique of Pyrography, which is fire writing, and said to be one of the oldest methods of communication.

When asked how great it was to be involved with a project like this, Santana stated “It’s super cool. I can see this being worldwide…”

The singer will continue to spread his message of peace and love at the House of Blues where he’s performing through 2019.
