IAMDONALD TOUR featuring Donald Glover and Childish Gambino comes to the Hard Rock Cafe on the Strip Saturday, April 30.
The IAMDONALD TOUR is a unique interactive experience that uses live music, comedy, and video to convey the personal experience of being Donald Glover. Most recognized for his role as the jock “Troy” on NBC’s Community and as being a staff writer on the hit-show 30 Rock, Donald continues to tour and perform stand-up. Donald’s first Comedy Central Stand-Up Special aired in March, 2010 and in July of the same year, he received the first-ever “Rising Comedy Star of the Year Award” at the 2010 Just For Laughs Comedy Festival in Montreal.
Donald wears many hats in this show, opening up for himself doing stand-up as Donald Glover, followed by Childish Gambino, the moniker he raps under. Childish Gambino has released several mix tapes including “I Am Just A Rapper” in which he raps over indie rock samples. In July of 2010 he released his first full length album entitled Culdesac which features 16 tracks of original material that gained major critical acclaim. Donald also just released a new song “Freaks and Geeks”; the first single off his new EP out Tuesday, March 8th. This variety show of sorts is part comedy, part music and ALL Donald Glover.
