Insomniac Concludes Safe and Successful 15th Annual Electric Daisy Carnival Las Vegas
Insomniac wrapped up the 15th Annual Electric Daisy Carnival on Monday morning, marking a major success for North America’s largest electronic dance music festival with 230,000 attendees, more than 100 electronic artists, and minimal causes for concern throughout the three day festival’s debut in Las Vegas.
“I am grateful for how welcoming the city of Las Vegas has been, and excited by how much both the fans and the organizations we worked with loved the event,” said Pasquale Rotella, CEO and founder of Insomniac. “We could not have asked for a better team, from Insomniac’s staff to the Las Vegas Motor Speedway, the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, Clark County Fire Department, Dr. Dale Carrison, Medic West, American Medical Response, and UMC. I want to thank everyone involved for believing in us.”
Attendees experienced a smooth entrance each day including a state-of-the-art identification screening process, verifying all attendees were 18 or over, along with a multi-stage search process to ensure only approved items were allowed into the festival.
The partnerships with the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, the Clark County Fire Department, University Medical Center, Medic West, CSC, Staff Pro, the Las Vegas Motor Speedway and many others kept security and safety concerns to a minimum.
“The event was an overwhelming success for Las Vegas and fans of the event,” commented Captain David O’Leary of the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department. “Over the course of my long career, I have never witnessed a more respectful and overwhelmingly grateful group of fans and organizers.”
“This was a great crowd – polite, cooperative, and appreciative,” said Dr. Dale Carrison, UMC Chief of Staff. “Insomniac provided every resource we requested so we went into the event feeling adequately prepared. Considering the number of people who were out here, the number of incidents we treated was minimal, and certainly no more than any event of this size would produce.”
Insomniac regularly updated fans via the Electric Daisy Carnival Web site on the importance and practice of staying hydrated before, during and after the festival. With free Water Refill Stations, attendees were able to fill any beverage container or Insomniac branded water canteen in order to stay hydrated throughout the event.
Creating a true carnival atmosphere, the festival featured more than 200 performers, including dancers, fire twirlers, aerialists, and stilt walkers, plus numerous full size carnival rides and attractions. The 1,000-acre complex was transformed into a fully immersive audiovisual experience as 13 large-scale art installations created their own interactive environments amidst the six stages, along with state-of-the-art lighting and sound production. Attendees also experienced the most impressive pyrotechnics display in Insomniac’s history, featuring a 15-minute fireworks display each night and state-of-the-art pyrotechnics on every stage.
The VIP offerings were elevated to a new level at this year’s event with posh table reservation areas providing multilevel views overlooking the festival, intimate seating adjacent to the main stage, and extravagant amenities. The partnership with elite nightclub operators Marquee and XS brought experienced staff and exceptional service to the venue.
“It was a fantastic debut for Insomniac in the Las Vegas market, and we felt an overwhelming welcome from the beginning,” said Rotella. “I can’t wait to start working on what we can do bigger and better for the next event.”
