Jabbawockeez Hosts Cinco de Mayo Celebration at Tacos & Tequila
Tacos & Tequila at Luxor Hotel and Casino will host a three-day Cinco de Mayo fiesta featuring food and drink specials Friday, May 3 through Sunday, May 5. The celebration will culminate with a party hosted by the world-famous dance crew Jabbawockeez Sunday, May 5 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.
Fiesta-goers will enjoy specially priced Mexican dishes throughout the weekend including Corporate Executive Chef Saul Ortiz’s tacos, priced at $3 a la carte. The tacos include the Bouche (pig’s stomach) topped with salsa de puya, cilantro and onions; Cesos (calf brains) topped with salsa de puya, cilantro and onions; and Lengua (cow’s tongue) topped with tomatillo salsa, cilantro and onions.
The $5 food menu features guacamole, habañero chicken wings, beef flautas, fiesta nachos and quesadillas. Drink specials include $5 Dos Equis, El Jimador shots and sangria and $8 Micheladas, Palomas and El Jimador margaritas.
During the Cinco de Mayo fiesta, T&T will introduce the “Jabbarita” cocktail, named and created in honor of Jabbawockeez and its new home at Luxor. The exclusive libation, priced at $8, is made with El Jimador Blanco, Tuaca, Monin Hibiscus syrup, T&T’s house margarita mix and garnished with a Hibiscus flower.
The ultimate Cinco de Mayo fiesta will take place Sunday, May 5 and feature delicious food, high-energy entertainment and a special amateur dance contest offering a grand prize of $500. The dance-off will be judged by Jabbawockeez, who will debut the new show “PRiSM” at Luxor Saturday, May 18. The DJ and production team behind the music featured in the Jabbawockeez show, The Bangerz, also will provide entertainment throughout the day’s festivities. Registration is at 6 p.m. and the contest will begin shortly after. T&T also will award $250 in prizes to the winner of the “Best Loco Cinco Photo Booth Contest,” where patrons are invited to take crazy photos to be entered to win from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Sunday.
Additional festivities Friday and Saturday from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m. include DJ sets from DJ Larry Lynx and $5 Dos Equis and El Jimador shots. Guests can enjoy $5 Dos Equis and Dos Equis giveaways from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. and $5 El Jimador shots and $8 El Jimador margaritas with El Jimador giveaways from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Saturday. T&T’s signature Mariachi Brunch will take place from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday and Sunday with a high-energy Mariachi band and two-for-one El Jimador margaritas and Bloody Marias.
Tacos & Tequila, a highly-stylized Mexican restaurant and bar with a fun, high-energy vibe and flavorful menu is located at Luxor Hotel and Casino.
