Junior Achievement of Southern Nevada to Host 21st Annual “Boo-A-Thon” Fundraiser on October 14-15 at Texas Station
Junior Achievement of Southern Nevada will host the 21st annual Boo-A-Thon bowling tournament fundraiser on October 14 at 12-2 pm and 3-5 pm, and October 15 at 12-2 pm, at the Texas Station Bowling Center. The annual event is intended to help support the financial literacy programs that Junior Achievement offers to students in the local Las Vegas community.

Southern Nevada community members are invited to join in the festivities and form five-person bowling teams to raise at least $100 per person. Junior Achievement will provide all of the fundraising tools necessary to aid with team fundraising efforts. There is a $10 registration fee for all bowlers, which will provide unlimited bowling for two hours, bowling shoes and the chance to win a number of prizes.

“We are thrilled to host the e 21st annual Boo-A-Thon and we are looking forward to this year”s event,” said Caitlin Shea, Director of Development at Junior Achievement of Southern Nevada. “The fundraiser is not only an excellent team building activity for corporations and organizations, but it also generates awareness for Junior Achievement’s ultimate goal – to empower young people to their own economic success.”
Junior Achievement strives to inspire, prepare and teach young people how to succeed in a global economy. Since being founded locally in 1996, Junior Achievement of Southern Nevada has impacted more than 330,000 students with their practical hands-on financial literacy curriculum. Today, Junior Achievement programs reach over 20,000 students annually throughout Clark County.
The annual fundraising event will also feature a costume contest, a bowling lane decorating contest as well as food and other activities to benefit a great cause.
Junior Achievement of Southern Nevada, Inc. was founded locally in 1996. The current local programs span grades K-12, with age-appropriate curricula. At the elementary level, students learn about their roles as individuals, workers and consumers while focusing on key life skills like the importance of saving, and the difference between wants and needs.
