KNTV ABC Channel 13 and Tropical Smoothie Cafes Team Up for Coats for Kids Drive
KNTV ABC Channel 13’s Coats For Kids drive continues at all Nevada Tropical Smoothie Cafe locations until Nov 3. Sima Khachoyan stopped by to donate 28 coats. Sima said “My son Harud went around the neighborhood knocking on doors to collect the coats for the cause.” They won a pair of tickets to Rock of Ages for bringing in the most individual donations.
75 mostly new coats from Jack Pyle of JC Pyle company
Jack Pyle from locally owned and operated J.C. Pyle Company dropped off 75 mostly new coats that he has been collecting all year long. This is his 2nd year donating to tropical Smoothie Café Coats For Kids and 2nd year of winning the $250 Tropical Smoothie Café Gift Card. Jack said “Before this I had never heard of TSC and since I have used that gift card to introduce clients and friends to the brand and I can tell you they are hooked!”
CBS Radio big bosses Jerry McKenna & Tony Perlongo and sales representative Deborah O’Donohue took time out of their busy day to drop off a big box of coats that their employees donated for the cause.
“Giving back to the community is what we do. It’s in our DNA. We were thrilled to partner with Channel 13 and Tropical Smoothie Café to bring some warmth to those that need it. So many people on the CBS team brought in coats that we had to request additional boxes!” Jerry said.
Even Jim Prather, head honcho over at KTNV and across the nation, and also one of the nicest and busiest men in Vegas, took time out of his day to stop by and donate coats that his kids had grown out of.

Ryan Vezina of Recycled Percussion currently performing at The Quad, was the first to jump in and say “I want to help out by giving out free tickets to everyone who donates a coat!” Ryan stopped by at 6am to kick off the event and personally thanks everyone who stopped by.
Mike Hammer, comedy magician and headliner at The 4 Queens, also wanted to help out donated free tickets to his show for anyone who donated. Mike additionally stopped by the event to show his support. “I am a regular customer of Tropical Smoothie Cafe and I think helping kids is a great cause, ” said Mike.
