The co-headlining gig featured Kristofferson stripped down with just a guitar and harmonica performing songs including “Shipwrecked in the Eighties,” “Help Me Make It Through the Night,” and “Me and Bobby McGee” – a song Kristofferson co-wrote that was later made famous by Janis Joplin and covered countless times.

Kristofferson gave a shout out to Gene Kilroy, Muhammad Ali’s longtime business manager, in reference to the song and Kilroy himself was there in the audience.

At the end of Kristofferson’s set, the second prolific songwriter of the evening, Mr. John Prine joined him on stage to perform “Why Me Lord” as the audience stood cheering for the duo. Prine then took the stage with his band performing songs including “Taking a Walk,” “Long Monday” and “Glory of True Love,” among others in what was truly an incredible night.
