Latin Singer Alejandra Guzman to Perform at Padres’ ‘El Sueño de Esperanza’ Gala at Tropicana Las Vegas

PADRES Contra El Cáncer (PADRES), a non-profit organization committed to improving the quality of life for Latino children with cancer and their families, is proud to join forces with Tropicana Las Vegas for the ‘El Sueño de EsperanzaGala presented by Farmers Insurance. The October 15th gala will pay tribute to PADRES’ extraordinary children and families while raising funds for the lifesaving work of the organization.

Coinciding with “A Weekend of Latin Style & Entertainment,” the annual gala is part of a series of events benefiting PADRES’ programs and services. PADRES National Spokesperson Eva Longoria and Master of Ceremonies George Lopez will be joined by more than 600 celebrities and business professionals expected to attend in support of the organization’s services.

Musical entertainment for the 11th annual ‘El Sueño de EsperanzaGala include:

  • Born in Mexico City, Alejandra Guzman was known as the “Queen of Rock” from an early age. Throughout her 20-year musical career she has generated over 30 Top 10 radio hits, earned a 2002 Latin Grammy Award for “Best Rock Solo Album” and sold more than 10 million records. As a cancer survivor herself, Alejandra is also well-known for her involvement in philanthropic organizations such as the Asociación Mexicana de Ayuda a Niños con Cáncer (The Mexican Association of Aid to Children with Cancer) and acted as spokesperson for the SER campaign (SPTI) to promote breast cancer awareness in 2008.
  • Last season’s “American Idol” Finalist Stefano Langone auditioned for the show after a terrible car accident. Known as Jennifer Lopez’s favorite, his rendition of Stevie Wonder’s “Lately” brought the “American Idol” judge to tears.
  • “America’s Got Talent” Soprano Vocalist and cancer survivor, Barbara Padilla finished as first runner up. Her long-awaited debut solo album, “Viviendo,” showcases Barbara’s versatile talent and features a stellar lineup of songs including the classic “Amado Mio,” a Spanish/English duet with Raul Malo.

In addition to the gala, weekend celebrations also include the PADRES Celebrity Poker Tournament on October 15, featuring surprise celebrity appearances, and the PADRES Gala After-Party hosted by Eva Longoria and Friends at Club Nikki.
