His music career catapulted to near-instant fame in 1992, when he was discovered by record producer Dr Dre.

Snoop has since sold over 30 million albums worldwide, and his debut album released in 1993, Doggystyle, reached No. 1 on both the Billboard 200 and R&B charts. Not limited by any musical genre, he produces g-funk, reggae, dub and West Coast hip hop music as well. His second album Tha Doggfather also debuted at No. 1 on both charts, and was certified double platinum in 1997.
