Lo-Fi Rock Band Moonboots to host Release Party for Debut EP at Bunkhouse Saloon March 5
Lo-fi rock band MOONBOOTS will celebrate the release of its self-titled debut EP with a concert at The Bunkhouse Saloon (124 S. 11th St.) as part of the global Burger Records Revolution event on Saturday, March 5 (Photo credit: David Sivesind).

The 21-over party begins at 8 p.m. and will feature performances by MOONBOOTS and hand-picked local bands The Astaires, O WILDLY and The American Weather. The first 50 people through the door will receive a complimentary copy of the MOONBOOTS EP with their $5 cover.

MOONBOOTS was recorded and mixed last summer and fall at two recording studios in downtown Las Vegas, National Southwestern Recording and Naked City Audio, with an emphasis on capturing the frenetic energy of the band’s live shows. The six-song EP builds on the signature MOONBOOTS sound that the Las Vegas Weekly hailed as a mix of “the lo-fi grunge of the Pixies, the nerdy alt-rock of Weezer and the indie-punk fire of The Thermals.”

Donald Hickey of KUNV 91.5-FM’s Neon Reverb Radio said of the EP that he was “humbly surprised just how good it was,” and that “it’s incredibly listenable, a whole lotta fun. The lyrics are off the hook.”

Formed in 2014, MOONBOOTS released its first single, The Omen, in the summer of 2015, and has shared the stage with such acts as The Donkeys, Part Time and Crocodiles. The band features John Coulter on vocals, Clyde Barnett on lead guitar, Wade Schuster on rhythm guitar, Pj Perez on bass, and Ryan Brunty on drums.

MOONBOOTS is now available for digital pre-order at Bandcamp and will be available on March 4 on all major digital music services, including Amazon, iTunes, Apple Music, Spotify and Google Play.
