LUCKYRICE Festival Returns to The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas for a Weekend of Asian Culture Celebrations

The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas is once again bringing LUCKYRICE, the culinary festival that gives voice to Asian cultures through the lens of food and drink, to Las Vegas from October 4–6, 2013 (Pictured: Sang Yoon at last year’s festival – Photo: © Erik Kabik/ www.erikkabik.com). 

Guests are invited to experience the invigorating flavors of popular Asian markets, cooked by celebrity guest chefs and the talented chefs from The Cosmopolitan. Event highlights during the three-day event will include:

• Opening Ceremony (Friday, October 4) – At the Boulevard Pool guests can mingle with the all-star lineup of LUCKYRICE chefs while starting the weekend off with a wish while releasing a floating lotus flower, signifying prosperity, into the water as the drum sounds.  An assortment of teas will be available with a tasting session arranged to provide insight into the different types of aromas and flavors. Authentic Chinese entertainment will include Lion Dances, Koto and Pipa musical performances and more. This ceremony will be complimentary to hotel guests and ticket holders.

• LUCKYRICE Vegas Night Market (Saturday, October 5) – Inspired by the festive night markets of Asia – from Taipei to Kuala Lumpur – this celebration will transform the Boulevard Pool into an outdoor feast for the second year in a row. Featuring traditional Asian street food and modern variations alike, visiting celebrity chefs include Pichet Ong, Todd English, Jet Tila and Kristen Kish. In addition, The Cosmopolitan’s own Wicked Spoon chefs will feature an assortment of Asian-inspired bites as well as local favorites Fukuburger and Raku will offer their own take on night market fare. Resort mixologists Christopher Hopkins and Mariena Mercer will create specialty cocktails with an Asian flare. Tickets start at $88.

• Dim Sum, Bloody Mary & Mahjong Brunch (Sunday, October 6) – Susur Lee (Top Chef Masters/Lee, Toronto) will offer his Cantonese-inspired fare to guests at Bamboo Pool as they design their own Bloody Marys with Asian ingredients. Mahjong games will be held for beginners and pros at the boozy brunch. Tickets are priced at $65.

General Admission tickets for the Night Market are priced at $88, with a limited number of VIP tickets available for $125.
