Marco Antonio Solis & Pepe Aguilar To Perform at Mandalay Bay Sept. 12

Marco Antonio Solis and Pepe Aguilar, two of the most beloved and popular stars of Mexican music, have announced a series of concerts throughout select cities in the United States which will include a Saturday, Sept. 12 stop at the Mandalay Bay Events Center. Together on one stage, Solis and Aguilar will celebrate Mexican Independence Day weekend, delighting fans with their most recent hits and the songs that made them superstars. The concert is scheduled to begin at 8 p.m.

Marco Antonio Solis is without question one of the most important figures in the rise of Mexican and Latin music to world prominence over the course of the 1980s and ‘90s. He became a superstar as the lead singer of the group Los Bukis and in his career as a soloist won numerous industry awards. He earned a Grammy nomination for Best Mexican Regional Singer for his hit song “Si Me Recuerdas” and went on to write and produce music for a number of artists including Marisela, Ana Barbara, Pilar Montenegro, among others.

Solis’ best-of collection, La Historia Continua, was released in 2003 and was followed by Dos Grandes, alongside popular Latino singer Joan Sebastian. Razon de Sobra, another of Solis’ popular albums, also was released in 2003. La Historia Continua, Parte II was distributed in 2005 along with a joint album with Tejano singer (Pepe) Aguilar, Dos Idolos. The well-received Trozos de Mi Alma, Vol. 2 hit shelves in 2006 and quickly topped the Latin album charts. The album produced the hit single “Antes de Que Te Vayas” which earned Solís a Grammy nomination for Best Latin Pop Album.

Pepe Aguilar is a singer, songwriter and Latin sensation who was born in the United States but raised in Zacatecas, Mexico. Son of recording legends Antonio Aguilar and Flor Silvestre, Aguilar was influenced and supported by his parents to become a singer. Among his biggest albums are Por Mujeres Como Tu (1998) which spent nearly a year on the Latin and Mexican charts, Por Una Mujer Bonita (1999) which won him a Grammy for Best Mexican-American/Tejano Music Performance, Y Tenerte Otra Vez (2003), No Soy de Nadie (2004) and Historias de Mi Tierra (2005).

Tickets priced at $125, $95 and $75, not including applicable service charges, go on sale Friday, May 22 at 10 a.m. and will be available at all Las Vegas Ticketmaster locations (select Smith’s Food and Drug Centers and Ritmo Latino).
