World famous chef and restauranteur Max Brenner held a VIP opening reception on Tuesday evening where he invited guests to enjoy samples of some of the great food offerings, chocolate (of course) and signature drinks that will be served at this new spot in Las Vegas.

Max Brenner is in the Forum Shops at Caesars Palace in the location once occupied by Chinois. It’s a large two-story restaurant and chocolate shop with walk up service, a chocolate and gift shop, private dining rooms, a balcony and ample seating on both stories for dining. On Thursay morning, Mayor Oscar Goodman stopped by for a tour and participated in a Chocolate Breaking Ceremony (where he and Max broke a large block of chocolate over cinder blocks) to commemorate the opening. The first guests were already lined up, eager to come inside and try the world famous Chocolate phenomenon destination and eateries first location in Las Vegas.

I tried some of the chocolate dishes and several items on the regular food menu. The signature chocolate pizza was gooey delicious good and the variety of chocolate aphrodisiac drinks are just out of this world. I loved the Satisfaction Guaranteed – Castries peanut liqueur, caramel liqueur and milk chocolate. And if there’s an emergency and you NEED a SHOT of Chocolate there is always the Chocolate Syringe: full of delicious milk chocolate and YES, you squirt it right out of a syringe into your mouth. Max Brenner is way beyond chocolate too, offering a full breakfast, lunch and dinner menu with salads, burgers, steaks, sandwiches, quesedillas, pizzas and finger foods too. Heavyweight chef Chris Santos, owner of The Stanton Social restaurant in New York, was brought in to head up the kitchen here in Vegas. So it’s not JUST chocolate and they take the rest of their menu very seriously.

Then there is just chocolate, chocolate and more chocolate… vats of it swirling and pumping through pipes around the place… above, below, all around… a full menu of the basics and things that conjour up Willie Wonka, a full shop and take away chocolate pizza slices and drinks too. — Erik Kabik
