"Michael Jackson One by Cirque du Soleil" Honors the King of Pop’s Birthday
Hosted by Cirque du Soleil and The Estate of Michael Jackson, Michael Jackson ONE opened its doors to fans from all over the world for an exclusive insider’s look in honor of the King of Pop’s birthday on Aug. 29.

The celebration kicked-off with a glimpse into the production’s rehearsal process as cast members prepped for the acclaimed show with acrobatic training, as they continually work to hone their individual skills.

The Michael Jackson ONE dancers rehearsed their performance of “Beat It” with world-renown choreographers Rich and Tone Talauega, who work with the cast to maintain the performance’s intricate choreography.

A Q&A session followed as the cast members and Rich and Tone took questions from the audience that illuminated some of the secret innerworkings of Las Vegas’ famed production.  The show’s artists then wowed the audience with a surprise urban freestyle performance in honor of Michael’s birthday.

The fun-filled afternoon was rounded out with a question and answer session with Joe Vogel, author of “Man in the Music: The Creative Life and Work of Michael Jackson,” who shared his insights into Michael Jackson’s tremendous continuing influence on today’s musical artists and all of contemporary culture.   Vogel and fashion designer Michael Bush, who authored “The King of Style – Dressing Michael Jackson”, signed their books for fans in attendance.  A special meet & greet with the day’s participants, representatives of the Estate of Michael Jackson and birthday cake put the finishing touch on the day of celebration.

Michael Jackson ONE by Cirque du Soleil performs in the Michael Jackson Theater at Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino Thursday – Monday at 7 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. For more information and to purchase tickets, please visit cirquedusoleil.com.
