Middle Eastern Sensations Wael Kfoury and Rouweida Attiyie to Perform at The Pearl at The Palms April 23

Show cancelled – refunds available at original point of purchase.

Lebanese artist Wael Kfoury and Syrian songstress Rouweida Attiyie are set to perform at the Pearl at the Palms Casino Resort on Saturday, April 23, 2011, at 8 p.m.

Wael Kfoury has many titles including “Prince of Romance” and “Prince of the Romantic Song.” In 1992, Kfoury participated in a talent show, Studio El Fan, where he won the gold medal. Since then, he has released hundreds of songs and immediately became one of the most well known artists in Lebanon. In 1996, he was drafted into military service and the Lebanese community’s reaction was similar to the American reaction when Elvis himself was drafted. Between 1999 and 2005, Kfoury released five albums and he has been a guest on many hit Lebanese shows, including “Star Academy,” “Miss Lebanon,” “Top 20” and others.

Rouweida Attiyie was the first runner-up on the first season of Super Star, the pan-Arab version of American Idol. She has quickly risen to fame due to the sheer power of her deep and expressive voice. Her use of voice helped her excel in classical Arabic “tarab” style and the Levantine “dabke” style. In 2004, she released her debut album Min Nazra, which was very successful. That same year she received the award for “Best Rising Singer” from Tunisia and won the title of “Best Arab Singer” – an award she won again in 2005. Several more albums and singles followed, including 2008’s “Hayati Melki” and “Ana Andi Lezzi,” and in 2009 her latest album Esma’ani was released.
