Morimoto Smashes Sake Cask to Celebrate First Las Vegas Restaurant at MGM Grand Opening Friday, October 21

Japanese Chef Masaharu Morimoto will welcome his first Las Vegas restaurant Friday, October 21 with a celebration. The “Iron Chef America” star will host Kagami Biraki, a traditional Japanese sake ceremony where the lid of a new sake barrel is broken open (Photo credit: MGM Resorts, International).

The rice wine is then served to guests to bless the venue with harmony and good fortune. Following the cask breaking, Chef Morimoto and MGM Grand executives will cut a ribbon to officially open the resort’s newest dining destination.
